5 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Your Brand Photography
We believe that brand photography is the best way to capture your brand aesthetic, personality, and smile creating a wonderful first impression to your customers online. It gives them a glimpse of what it is like to meet, connect, and work with you in person. The best brand photography shows personality.
There are tons of wonderful stock photography websites that we love to reference at Copperheart Creative, but when the budget is there… we are obviously BIG fans of well-branded photography!
So much, that we added a photography styling and shot-list into our Brand Styling and Brand Identity packages to help make your brand photoshoots a breeze! This helps our clients’ photoshoots go smoothly (also gives great brand direction to the photographer) to make the most out of the time with your photographer!
From personal business photoshoots to product-based marketing, here are a few of our favorite tips to get the MOST out of your brand photography experience!
1. Create an inspiration board.
Sometimes inspiration comes with a little research. Take time to find photos, locations, styles and shots you love to help inspire your photographer. Doing that little bit of work upfront will help narrow your confusion between poses and nail the aesthetic of your branding! We love creating different boards on our Pinterest page to stay inspired for fresh, unique photography for team headshots, lifestyle, working, and customer interaction.
2. Decide on the right aesthetic.
Is your style outdoorsy? Does your business look more corporate or more carefree? Are you more likely to be working from a coffee shop or a home office? Choosing the right location is so important because it's a reflection of who you are and how you do business. Figure out your values as a team and then match them in your location choices.
3. Choose the right attire.
As you'll notice on all of Copperheart's photography, we do our best to match our outfitting to our brand colors. This can be a really fun challenge as you plan out your shoot! Wearing something that not only compliments your branding but also compliments the location is key. For example, if you have hot pink as one of your brand colors, finding ways to add in that pop whether it's a notebook or a pink blazer is essential to keep your look streamlined.
4. Settle on props.
Props are so important when planning photoshoots for your branded photography. From showcasing your logo to sharing your favorite book, props help us tell a story. When choosing props, always consider your color story and purpose behind each shot. If you're a solopreneur, a laptop or notebook in a coffee shop may match your aesthetic. If you're in the brewing business, a glass of beer and tabletop football spread would be a great way to showcase your brand. Just remember to be mindful and intentional!
5. Consider logistics.
If you plan to do a photoshoot in your favorite coffee shop, SCOUT OUT your location first! We can't express enough how important it is to prepare prepare prepare! Visit your location at the time you plan to do your shoot. Evaluate the lighting, the crowd, the noise. Taking time to make the most of your photoshoot by ensuring your set, props, and attire will save you from surprises!
