3 Ways To Support Your Community

It's time to step up! Supporting your small business community is more important now than ever. But hey, shouldn’t it extend beyond a global pandemic?

Supporting local not only uplifts the economy but also sparks long-lasting and productive relationships within your community. Local business owners offer so much value and support, and we love showcasing their unique models through branding projects and shout outs!

With everything feeling so uncertain, now is the time to step up and love on local. There are so many wonderful ways to impact these businesses all month long! Here are 3 simple things we can all do to keep your local favorites up and running:

1. Shop Local.

Whether it's fresh produce, your new favorite yoga pants, or a quick take-out meal, choosing to support local businesses will continue to lift us all. There are so many ways to shop local right now, all it takes is a little research! Need fresh produce? Order from the farmers market. Looking for some new activities for the kiddos? Visit your local toy store website. Ready for a new novel? Call your neighborhood bookstore! Boost your community and your compassion by seeking out small businesses to support this month!

2. Share Local.

Once you shop local, a great way to give back to the small businesses you're supporting is by SHARING! Spread the word on your social media! Loved your local take out meal? Share it to your stories! Why not send a text with a promo code from your favorite coffee shop to friends? Purchase gifts from a local boutique and include their info in the bag. Thank the business publicly for what they're offering! Word of mouth is powerful, and these small businesses need some extra advertising this month!

3. Support Local.

You've supported through shopping and sharing, but another great way to uplift your local small business owners is by simply checking in. Call, text, or simply message on social media your support and prayers. This is when relationships really flourish. Even if you don’t know the employees or owner personally, reach out. Be intentional with your words and support! Let them know they're important to you and ask if there's anything they need from their customers. Be considerate and thoughtful!

This is when showing up truly matters. From local restaurants to bookstores, there are plenty of ways to support businesses in need. If you’re not able to support financially, offer what you can! Consider your specialty, what your personal business provides, and maybe give away some freebies to local businesses. Just do what you can when you can. Let’s all love hard this month!
